The govt files application to strike out Tony Pua's suit against Najib

KUALA LUMPUR: The government of Malaysia has filed an application to strike out Tony Pua's suit against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak for misfeasance in public office.
The application was filed on March 2, this year. The matter came up for a case management before a High Court, today.
Senior Federal Counsel Elina Mohd Dom, who appeared for the government, said the grounds of the application is that there is no cause of action for misfeasance in public office.
Pua, who is the MP Petaling Jaya Utara had filed the suit against Najib and the government, seeking a declaration that the Prime Minister had committed misfeasance in public office.
