Senior citizen dies in Ranau fire

KOTA KINABALU: A senior citizen died in a fire that also destroyed his home at Kampung Betong Karagasan, Ranau early today.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department in a statement said the deceased had been identified as Bangkawat Lngkiran aged 81.

"The department received a distress call around 1.23am. But the house was already razed to the ground when personnel from the nearest fire and rescue station arrived at the scene located about 86km away," it said.
The department is investigating the case. — Bernama
