Datasonic clinches RM79.7m contract for additional 2.8m passports

    PETALING JAYA: Datasonic Group Bhd has clinched a RM79.7 million contract from the Home Affairs Ministry to supply an additional 2.8 million units of Malaysian passports for the Immigration Department.
    In a stock exchange filing yesterday, Datasonic said following the additional contract, the total contract value has increased to RM364.4 million from RM284.7 million, for the supply of 12.8 million units from 10 million units.
    The group said it is required to furnish a performance bond for RM797,160, which is valid until Jan 31, 2019.

    The contract is expected to contribute positively to the earnings and net assets per share of the group for the financial year ending March 31, 2018.
