DAP tells Malacca branch to resolve mass resignation issue

PETALING JAYA: The DAP's Malacca leadership has been asked to resolve the situation involving the resignation of 182 grassroots members in the state, said its national organising secretary Anthony Loke.
Loke said the party has yet to receive the resignations of its members in Malacca and will not interfere in the state's handling of the situation at the moment.
"We will leave it to them (Malacca DAP) to resolve the matter,"he told theSun when contacted, today.
The Seremban MP's response came after 182 grassroots members which were led by seven former DAP members quit the party following disappointment with the current leadership.
The seven included former Malacca DAP secretary Liou Chen Kuang, N. Ghandi, Low Chew Lim, Henry Kang, Kenny Tam, Kng Tuan Hock and Tee Ai Yen.
The group reportedly claimed that the party had "strayed away" from its Malaysian Malaysia motto by failing to rid internal corruption, prevent interference from DAP's central leadership and misuse of power within the state party members.
It is learnt that the disgruntled members will courier their resignation letters to the DAP central leadership.
The latest blow came in the wake of the resignations of Kota Melaka MP Sim Tong Him, Duyong assemblyman Goh Leong San, Bachang assemblyman Lim Jak Wong and Kesidang assemblyman Chin Choong Seong, on Feb 12 citing similar reasons.
