Jogging married couple struck dead by lightning in Puchong

KUALA LUMPUR: A married couple jogging at a playground in Puchong this evening was struck dead by lightning.
Yee Boon Koo, 59, and wife, Ooi Lee Chen, 57, died on the spot in the 6pm incident in Jalan Kenari.
Serdang police acting chief Supt Lee Wai Leong said passers-by who saw the bodies on the ground alerted the police.
He said the couple was jogging in the playground when the lightning struck. "One of the victims had traces of blood on the head sustained in a fall after being struck by the lightning," Lee told Bernama here.
The bodies were sent to the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre. — Bernama
