1,333 flood victim families receive 'wang ihsan'

TUMPAT: A total of 1,333 families who were victims of the floods which occurred earlier this year in Pengkalan Kubor here, received RM666,500 in "wang ihsan" (compassionate aid) from the federal government today.
Tumpat Umno acting division chief Datuk Mohd Rosdi Abdul Aziz said each family received RM500 cash aid.
He said overall, the number of flood victims in Tumpat is estimated to exceed 3,000 people and the contribution today was for the flood victims in the northern part of Tumpat.
Among the recipients included those who live in Kampung Kajang Sebidang, Simpangan and Pengkalan Kubor, he told reporters at the presentation of the wang ihsan at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sri Tumpat 2 here, today. — Bernama
