MIA awards scholarship

MALAYSIAN Institute of Art (MIA) is established as a nonprofi t institution since 1967. It has produced thousands of professional artists, designers and musicians for the creative industry.
The institute offers a range of diploma courses in the fi eld of art, design and music including Illustration, Interior Design, Graphic Design, Textile & Fashion Design, Industrial Design, Fine Art and Music, which are accredited by Malaysia Qualifications Agency (MQA).
MIA conducts the Nationwide Art & Design Competition where scholarships worth RM300,000 are awarded to the winners to pursue their studies in any of the six art and design diploma programmes.
This annual competition is open to public secondary school students in Form 4 to Form 6 as well as students in Chinese independent schools from Senior Middle 1 to Senior Middle 3.
The institution also offers the Academic Achievement Scholarship to students who achieve excellent results in SPM or UEC examination. Students with 9As and above will receive a 100% tuition fee waiver, while those with 8As will receive 75% tuition fee waiver, and so on.
MIA has established links with prestigious universities and colleges in UK, Australia, Taiwan and China. Through these connections, MIA graduates may proceed to complete their degree programmes as this arrangement enables students to save time and cost to pursue their degrees overseas.
It is also an ideal pathway to obtain a well-balanced education which combine Malaysian and overseas learning experience and exposure.
MIA is open for its new intake which commences on April 24. MIA will extend its weekend counselling hours on Saturdays and Sundays from 9.30am to 4pm between March 25 and April 23.
