GrabCar expands to four more major cities

PETALING JAYA: GrabCar is now available in four other major cities in the country - Ipoh, Kuantan, Kuching and Seremban - in addition to the other five that it is already operating in.
Ride-hailing company Grab, in making the announcement today, said the expansion was in line with the company’s key mission to make transportation more accessible to everyone.
“Effective March 15, commuters in these cities can consider the private hire car hailing service as an alternative mode of transportation,” Grab Malaysia country head Sean Goh said in a statement today.
Previously, Grab has been operating in the Klang Valley, Penang, Johor Baru, Malacca and Kota Kinabalu.
Goh assured that the GrabCar service in the new cities would continue to leverage on the same safety aspects, including stringent background checks on its drivers and a “Group Accident Insurance” policy for both passengers and drivers.
Marking the expansion, Grab also launched an exclusive promotion in the new cities, with passengers booking a ride using the promo code “HIGRAB5” between March 15 and 31 to enjoy RM5 off 10 rides.
