HAVE you ever dreamt of studying abroad? If yes, now is your chance to consider studying in South Korea.
Being one of the best countries and also well-known for their great technology advancements, ICT, engineering and robotics, South Korea is the perfect place for international students to pursue their tertiary education.
There are many scholarship programmes made available to foreign students such as the Korean Government Scholarship Programme (KGSP), International Students Scholarship (ISS) and International Education Scholarship (IES). Korean universities are also providing scholarships for students who excel in the Test of Proficiency in Korean (TOPIK).
UniKL MIIT via Foundation in Science and Technology for Korean University or also well-known as the Pre-Korea Programme, provides a perfect pathway for students to pursue their study at Korean universities in engineering, computer sciences and animation courses.
This preparation programme exposes students to the Korean language and apart from that, they are also learning other subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Drawing in the Korean language.
UniKL MIIT also offers another programme known as the Korean Language Intensive Programme (K-LIP) as a platform for students to further their study in any other fields such as business administration, management, art and culture at Korean universities.
K-LIP is not limited as a path to further studies in degree programmes, but also aims to cater to the needs of those who are interested to learn and master the Korean language.
In UniKL MIIT, students are exposed to the Korean university learning environment. All courses are conducted in the Korean language by Korean native speakers and local lecturers who graduated from Korean universities. And the classrooms are equipped with the latest teaching facilities such as smartboard and free WiFi on campus.
Besides studying, students are required to participate in extra-curricular activities such as open-days and inter-cultural programmes.
Afiqah Abdul Aziz, a student from the Pre-Korea programme who is now studying at Ewha Womans University said, “UniKL MIIT really prepares students to excel studying in Korea. The programme truly helped me to survive in this foreign country. Also, I have received the International Education Scholarship (IES) by being excellent in TOPIK and performing well in the Foundation study.”
Starting with only four university collaborations in 2008, UniKL MIIT has expanded its collaboration to 11 universities. The collaborations are amongst the top universities in South Korea and some of UniKL students have received scholarships from Korean universities and the government.
In a separate development, one of UniKL MIIT students, Kan Yen Yee scored full marks in the 48th TOPIK. She is now doing her last six months of KLIP at Kyung Hee University.
According to Yen Yee, “Learning in UniKL MIIT is very enjoyable. Lecturers are really helpful and very dedicated. This great achievement is a result of the comprehensive Korean language syllabus offered. I am interested to continue my study in English Interpretation and Translation at Kyung Hee University”.
UniKL MIIT is located at a strategic location accessible by LRT Kelana Jaya Line, monorail and is near the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH).
