Firemen take three hours to lift 300kg-man suffering from breathing difficulties

IPOH: Firemen took three hours to lift a man weighing 300kg from his house in Taman Canning here to be transported to the Raja Permasuri Bainun Hospital after he suffered breathing difficulties today.
Ipoh Fire and Rescue Department operations chief, Khamis Harun said it took eight personnel to cart the 49-year-old patient on to the department's lorry.
"We used blankets, a mattress and ropes to lift him up," he added.
Earlier the hospital called the department for assistance at 9.16am.
"The stretcher was too small for the man. He was conscious which made it easy for us to give instructions," he added.
