Bukit Beruntung drowning: Search area expanded as hunt for two more missing boys continue

RAWANG: The search area for two more boys who are feared to have drowned after falling into a river near Kampung Timah Sungai SKC, Bukit Beruntung, has been expanded.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt. R.Supramaniam said the two, were part of a group of eight, believed to be fishing from a bridge at the spot before the accident at 5pm yesterday.
"Of the eight, one managed to swim to safety.
"The search and rescue (SAR) operation to look for the other two missing victims continues today until they are all found.
"Yesterday, our mission only focused around the 3km radius where the other bodies were found, but today, with the strength of 80 joint force enforcement agency personnel, we will expand our SAR until Sungai Selangor," he told reporters at the scene.
He said more boats and tracker dogs have been roped in to assist a search and rescue operation.
He said five bodies which were recovered today, have been handed over to the family members after post-mortem.
"The cause of death was due to drowning. There was no foul play leading to their death.
"Three victims were laid to rest at a cemetry in Bukit Beruntung, one in Kuala Krai and one in Kuala Selangor," added Supramaniam.
The five confirmed dead are brothers Shahrizwan Abdullah, 10, and Shahrizat, 12, Mohd Iskandar Shah Abdullah, 11, Mohd Aiman Fitri Md Asmadi, 12, and Amirul Hakimi Khairul Amru, nine.
At press time, the missing boys have been identified Muhammad Aiman Kamarul, 12, and Mohd Ikhwan Mohd Ridhwan, 10.
Muhammad Shahir Azman, 12, remains the sole survivor.
Rescuers are still combing the banks in search of the boys.
