PETALING JAYA: Police recovered two loaded guns from a lake in Putrajaya which they believe are related to the murder of a man last week in full view of 13 people in a house in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.
Selangor police Criminal Investigation Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said police were tipped off on the whereabouts of the weapons.
"Forensic divers from the Crime Investigation Department were deployed to the lake to retrieve the pistols
"The pistols have bullets in them," he said.
The lake is located near Persiaran Persekutuan, Presint 13, in Putrajaya.
On March 10, at about 3am, a businessman had claimed he heard a gunshot sound coming from the third floor of the house, which is located at Jalan Suakasih 2/2 in Bandar Tun Hussein Onn.
He claimed that he had rushed upstairs, only to find the victim sprawled on the floor, with a gunshot wound on his forehead and a gun in his right hand.
The businessman said he immediately lodged a report at the nearest police station.
Following the report, police rounded up 11 men and two women aged between 30 and 54, including the businessman, his wife and maid, to assist in the probe.
Police also seized the gun and took samples from 11 individuals who were at the scene to test for gunshot residue.
It was also reported that police did not rule out the possibility that the occupants in the house were playing "Russian roulette", a deadly game which led to the man's death.
Police are still in the midst of investigating if the occupants were gambling in the house or playing Russian roulette which eventually led to the shooting of the victim.
Checks near the house also showed a Mercedes-Benz parked across the house with VIP and VVIP stickers on the windshield.
