Van driver charged with masturbating inside lift

KUALA LUMPUR: A van driver was charged in the magistrate's court here yesterday, with committing gross indecency on a woman inside a lift at the Bandar Tasik Selatan flat here, four days ago.
Mohamad Syahrul Azizi Shah Fri, 28, pleaded not guilty to the charge read before magistrate Mahyudin Mohmad Som.
He was charged with masturbating, whereby his semen spurted on a 34-year-old woman in the lift on March 16 about 7.50am.
Upon conviction of the offence under Section 377D of the Penal Code, Mohamad Syahrul Azizi is liable to be imprisoned to up to two years.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Nur Farah Adilah Noordin did not offer bail.
However, the accused who was represented by counsel Azi Azlin Zulkifli appealed for minimum bail with the promise not to harass the alleged victim.
The court allowed Mohamad Syahrul Azizi RM2,500 bail in one surety. The case was fixed on April 14 for re-mention. — Bernama
