LANGKAWI: The country's enforcement agencies' elite forces displayed stunning demonstrations during the maritime segment of the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2017 (Lima'17) which was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today.
The joint demonstrations by members of the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN), Royal Malaysia Police (RMP), Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA), Royal Malaysian Customs Department, Marine Department and the Fisheries Department were performed in front of hundreds of visitors at Resorts World here.
The unique part of the launch was that the Malaysia's elite forces searched a box containing a key needed to activate the launch sequence using cutting edge equipment by RMN's Naval Special Warfare Forces (Paskal) as part of the opening gambit.
Also present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Shahidan Kassim.
Later, Najib also visited the maritime segment of Lima'17 exhibition hall and officiated the naming ceremony of the 'KM Pekan' vessel which was a present from the Japanese government to MMEA. — Bernama
