PETALING JAYA: T7 Global Bhd, formerly known as Tanjung Offshore Bhd, is partnering with Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) on human capital development in the aerospace and other high technology industries in Malaysia.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, T7 Global said its subsidiary T7 Aero Sdn Bhd (T7 Aero) had signed a head of agreement (HoA) with Mara Aerospace & Technologies Sdn Bhd (M-AeroTech), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mara.
T7 Global noted that the HoA signaled the commitment by both parties to work together on human capital development for metal treatments and other high value manufacturing activities in Malaysia, as well as to ensure adequate provision of skilled technicians and engineers to support T7 Aero’s activities through its access to Mara’s academic and training institutions.
T7 Global said the partnership will cover other areas of collaboration in metal treatments, including supply chain development, innovation, as well as research and technology.
The group added that the HoA aims to strengthen its collaboration with the aerospace industry to further improve its human capital development capabilities.
“According to industry analysts, third party metal treatments are a missing ingredient in Malaysia’s aerospace sector, preventing many smaller players from entering into aerospace,” M-AeroTech COO Zairul Amri Adam said.
Zairul said through its support of T7 Aero, Mara hopes to create new aerospace business opportunities for the local entrepreneurs.
Meanwhile, T7 Global chairman Datuk Dr Nik Norzul Thani said this collaboration will help both parties to ensure that the human capital development programme will transform the educational landscape of Malaysia and further cultivate potential leaders of tomorrow for the betterment of the country.
