PETALING JAYA: Boustead Heavy Industries Corp Bhd (BHIC) will collaborate with Technology Depository Agency Bhd (TDA) for the development of the National Airspace Policy (NAP) and National Airspace Management (NASM) Centre.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia yesterday, BHIC said it entered into a two-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) with TDA.
“The objective of the NAP is to provide a platform for stakeholders to jointly develop a comprehensive policy for the users of airspace, namely, national defense and security as well as civil aviation, in performing their activities. The NAP will also provide requirements for effectively managing the airspace to serve the NASM Centre,” TDA CEO Datuk Zailani Safari said.
BHIC managing director Tan Sri Ahmad Ramli said the development of the NAP and NASM Centre is part of an integral blueprint to upgrade the country’s capabilities and create a full-fledged airspace environment that can efficiently serve all airspace users.
As programme manager, BHIC will seek the support of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) under the group’s vendor development programme.
Together with TDA, BHIC will work with a selection of capable, highly-competent Malaysian SMEs on developing the NASM Centre, where research and development and intellectual property will play a key role.
