Upon sighting the crocodile at 9.50am today, members of the public notified the Penang Fire and Rescue Department.
Following the report, personnel from the Fire and Rescue Department, state Civil Defence Department, Penang Wildlife and National Parks removed the crocodile from the swampland.
According to personnel from the Penang Wildlife and National Parks, the estimated age of the reptile was 80-years-old, and it was likely in a frail condition due to its age.
