PETALING JAYA: Iris Corp Bhd is being sued for RM169.48 million in commission payment Roxwell Group Sdn Bhd alleges is due to it, for the build-own-transfer passport contract awarded by the government of the Republic of Guinea to Iris in 2013.
Roxwell’s suit filed at the High Court of Kuala Lumpur against Iris names the company and Tan Say Jim, Su Thai Ping, Hamdan Mohd Hassan and Sylla Ibrahima Sory as defendants.
Roxwell claims that an agreement between the two companies accords it with a 15% commission on the reported value of the contract awarded in consideration of any and all services in respect of the agreement involving the sale of plant, equipment, machinery or asset arranged by Roxwell.
Iris told Bursa Malaysia however, that the project does not involve the sale of plant and equipment and no deposit was received from the Republic of Guinea and no commission payment was agreed for securement of the project.
This is Roxwell’s second attempt at claiming for the commission.
Case management of the suit is on April 11, 2017.
