PAPAR: Barisan Nasional (BN) component, Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) has likened the sprouting of new political parties in the state come each general election, to the arrival of the fruit season.
PBS secretary-general Datuk Johnny Mositun said the new political parties and their leaders were now actively "seeking fruits that were almost ripe" to serve their own interest.
"These people are like those looking for fruits that are almost ripe. That's what we assume. From our perspective, every time the general election comes, all the new opposition leaders will come down to the ground.
"But for BN, we have been down on the ground since we won in the past elections until now. We provide whatever assistance necessary to help the people, whether they are in the villages, or anywhere in Sabah."
He said this to reporters after attending the Sungkadon Obstacle Sprint Run event in Kampung Sungkadon, here, today.
The event, which attracted over 400 participants from all over Sabah was organised by Casero Events in collaboration with the Communications and Multimedia Ministry. Its minister Datuk Seri Dr Salleh Said Keruak presented the prizes to the winners in the event.
Deputy Works Minister and Papar MP Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin was also present. — Bernama
