Breakfast with Milo

MILO recently invited parents and children to a breakfast awareness session at Bangsar South in conjunction with its annual Breakfast campaign under its Milo Malaysia Breakfast Day events. The adults and children were treated to a set of activities to highlight the importance of breakfast for children, apart from educating the parents on the daily nutritional requirements of their young ones.
Some of these activities included an energy demonstration, a Q&A session with Milo Malaysia business executive officer Philomena Tan and Milo senior nutritionist Nurul Iliani Ahmad, as well as a Breakfast Bento Demonstration by former Masterchef Malaysia contestant Brian Chen.
AFFORDABLE AND NUTRITIOUS
During the Breakfast Bento Demonstration, Chen taught the audience how to make a simple breakfast bento set, consisting of a tuna sandwich and an assortment of fruits and vegetable. Tan also shared with theSun’s Brian Chung how breakfast can offer a balanced meal and come at an affordable price without bursting one’s wallet.
“We understand the environment as such, getting harder for some families where costs is concerned. However, the fact still remains that breakfast is still the most important meal of the day. With that, I want to remind the people that you do not need to have a lot of ingredients to have a balanced breakfast,” She said.
FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ENERGY
According to Tan, the company worked with nutritionists and chefs to come up with simple and affordable recipes. They also considered the “Malaysian Health plate” and tailored their breakfasts to what is easily accessible to Malaysians.
“Milo has been driving the importance of breakfast as an essential source of energy to start the day right. Without a proper breakfast, children tend to feel lethargic during the course of the day as their energy needs are not sufficiently met,” informed Tan. She added that pairing meals with Milo will help trigger the release of energy from food efficiently. For more information on the Milo breakfast campaign, visit the Milo website.
