KUALA LUMPUR: The government has allocated a total of RM1.4 million for a project to build an alternative road leading to the official residence of Dewan Rakyat speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.
Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the project was started in March 21 last year and was expected to be completed in March this year.
"The scope of the project involves the construction of a 100m entry road, drainage works and utility transfer, construction of guardhouse, installation of an electronic gate, security system and road lights as well as other related works," he said.
He said this in a parliamentary written reply to a query from Ong Kian Ming (DAP - Serdang) who asked on the total cost spent to build the new wall and road upgrading work at Pandikar's official's residence.
Fadillah said the project however is currently behind schedule despite the 12-month planned construction period set.
"The current progress at the site is currently at 72% compared to the 92% as scheduled.
"However, the project is still expected to be completed according to the contract period," he added.
