SHAH ALAM: PAS Selangor will wait for a directive from its central leadership before leaving the state government.
Selangor PAS commissioner Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad (pix) said the state leadership could not come to a decision without approval from the party's top brass.
"There are talks that PAS should be leaving the state government, but we are waiting for the order, either from the muktamar (annual general meeting) or central.
"Currently, there are no instructions for us to leave the state government, so we will just proceed," Iskandar told reporters on the sidelines of the State Legislative Assembly today.
A large number of PAS' divisions had passed motions calling for its central leadership to cut ties with PKR.
Despite not being part of the opposition coalition, its elected members still serve in the Selangor government alongside members of other opposition parties.
Iskandar, who is also PAS vice-president, said he would not want to speculate on what would happen to the state government if the party leadership decides to sever ties with PKR.
"I don't know. We will cross the bridge when we get to it. I do not want to speculate," he added.
