SHAH ALAM: Contractors appointed by the Public Works Department (PWD) in Selangor who fail to complete their projects according to schedule due to their own incompetence will have their contracts revoked.
State Infrastructure and Public Utilities Committee chairman Zaidy Abdul Talib (pix), noted that there have been a number of delays, and said that extension of time (EOT) would only be approved in valid cases.
"If work progress at the respective sites have delays as compared to the work planning schedule that was presented initially, the contractors are required to submit their recovery work programme. EOT will be given only to contractors who are entitled for it.
"If it is found that the delay in completion is due to the contractors' poor performance, their contracts will be cancelled or terminated," he told the state legislative assembly, here, today.
Zaidy was responding to a question from Yaakob Sapari (PKR-Kota Anggerik) on the actions that would be taken by the state government to ensure contractors complete their projects according to schedule.
