Viralled image of cracks on bridge not Sitiawan bridge: PWD

SITIAWAN: The Public Works Department (PWD) has refuted a claim, which has been viralled on Facebook recently, of cracks on the Sitiwan Bridge.
Manjung PWD engineer, Haslina Mohd Isa said the image of the bridge that was viralled was actually the one under construction in a village nearby.
She said inspection conducted on the three bridges in Segari, namely the Sitiawan Bridge, Raja Permaisuri Bainun Bridge and Semalon Bridge, found no cracks on them and that they were safe.
"The claim (cracks on Sitiwan Bridge) was by irresponsible quarters to create anxiety among villagers and users of the bridge," she said when contacted by Bernama here today. — Bernama
