Rafizi should be thankful to Saudi Aramco for choosing Malaysia: Abdul Rahman

PUTRAJAYA: Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan has slammed opposition member of parliament Rafizi Ramli for questioning the investment agreement with oil giant Saudi Aramco.
He said Rafizi should instead be thankful to Saudi Aramco for choosing Malaysia to invest US$7 billion (RM31 billion) in the Refinery and Petrochemical Integrated Development (Rapid) project in Pengerang, Johor.
"Some 60,000 jobs have been created during the development of the Rapid project and after completion, it will provide jobs for 8,000 Malaysians.
"If this is what Rafizi claims as unfair, I do not know what else to say. For us to develop the economy, it is not only the work of the government.
"Rafizi is also responsible. Do not indulge in too much politics," he said after opening the Bumiputra Economic Transformation Roadmap 2.0 Syndication Laboratory, here today. — Bernama
