3 share RM17m Toto jackpot

PETALING JAYA: Two people from Selangor and another in Sabah won the RM17.1 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 on March 25.
The winners from Selangor walked home with a whopping RM8,515,433.45 each while the winner from Sabah won RM89,166.85 by buying an i-System ticket.
One of the winners from Selangor, a food seller, 49, told Sports Toto that after cleaning the tomb of his deceased family members on March 25 in conjunction with the Qingming festival, he decided to bet on his house number and his daughter's identity card number – 3839 and 6816.
"My winning must be a blessing from my ancestors," he said, adding that he was having dinner with his daughter when she found out that he had hit the jackpot.
On realising that he had won, he said, he was so excited that he could not sleep for two days.
The food seller said he would share the prize money with his siblings, plan an early retirement and spend for his daughter's education.
The winner bought a System 3 ticket which also won him an additional RM672.
The other winner from Selangor, a 64-year-old retiree, said the winning pair of 4D numbers – 3839 and 0322 – were the car registration numbers of his neighbour's new cars.
"I never won anything from my own car numbers, so I decided to bet on my neighbour's new car numbers which turned out to be lucky," he said.
The RM8.5 million winnings were shared by himself, his wife and two sons.
"We have a pool of money contributed by every family member and we will use the money to buy numbers."
"We thought we only won the second prize of Toto 4D without knowing that we had also won the Toto 4D Jackpot 1 until the next morning when I went to the outlet to check the results," he said.
The lucky family plans to use the prize money to settle their house and car loans, go for a vacation and pay for their parent's medical bill.
Their System 4 ticket also won them an additional RM336.
