(Video) When a king cobra’s bite feels like an insect bite

A SNAKE handler in Riau, Sumatra, confidently toys with one of the deadliest snakes in the world because he has built up immunity to its venom.
A king cobra releases enough venom when it strikes to take down an elephant, but Roni Kurniawan says it merely feels like an insect bite.
Roni became an Internet sensation after several photos of himself handling two male king cobras were posted on Facebook.
One is a 4m-long cobra named Ice, which recently bit his owner. "Yeah, Ice's bite just feels like an insect bite," Tribun News of Indonesia quoted him as saying.
Instead of the snake handler falling sick, it was the reptile that was unwell. Roni said he felt sorry for the snake as it came down with flu after biting him.
Roni is much luckier than fellow Indonesian 25-year-old Akbar Salubiro, who was found in the stomach of a 7m-long python in West Sulawesi last week.
