RESORTS World Genting (RWG) recently gave a group of primary school pupils a school holiday experience to remember.
A total of 80 pupils and teachers fromSJK(C) Perting and SJK(C) Telemong were invited to the resort perched up 6,000 ft above, to indulge in fun and exciting activities. Little did the kids know how the fun-filled day panned out for them.
FUN-FILLED FIRST EXPERIENCES
For a start, the students were treated to a 2.8km educational ride up to the resort in the new Awana Skyway cable car. The journey, which took 10 minutes, provided the children with a spectacular sight of the 130-year-old rainforest, an aerial view of the famed Chin Swee Temple, as well as the site that will host the nation’s first Twentieth Century Fox World theme park.
Having satiated their sense of sight and given a dose of adrenaline, the “school party” were treated to a set of exciting activities next, on reaching the park. These included lunch at the Food Factory in First World Plaza, followed by a surprise visit from various characters of the Alice in Wonderland live musical (showing at the resort). The entertaining cast strutted into the restaurant to upbeat music, soon getting the children off their chairs interacting with the “characters” in dance, games and amusing electronic device activities.
ALMOST NEVER ENDING FUN
Following lunch, the entourage from the schools was briefly shown some of the new attractions at the resort. By evening, all were ready for the classic fairytale, theAlice in Wonderland musical adventure at the Genting International Showroom.
At the end of the fun-filled and exhilarating day, Alvin Lam of SJK(C) Perting shared what he enjoyed most about the lunch experience. “I loved the fact that the buffet offered so many choices of food. I tried a little of everything but enjoyed the sushi and ice cream the most,” he said, reminiscing the variety of Japanese, Western and Malaysian delights, plus the resort’s very own ITALGELato.
Said SJK(C) Perting’s Yong Zi Qing: “The cable car ride up to the top was most amazing.” He not only enjoyed the view of the mountain range on his first ever cable car ride, but was thrilled to see clouds surrounding the mountain peaks.
