MB Inc issue takes centre stage at Perak assembly

IPOH: The opposition has once again questioned why the accounts of Mentri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) were not tabled at the Perak state assembly.
Nga Kor Ming (PH-Kepayang) asked why the accounts were not tabled and highlighted the example of the Penang state government (CM Incorporated) which had tabled it as part of the state accounts.
The opposition has been persistent in questioning why the accounts of MB Inc has not been tabled at every state assembly sitting in the past.
The war of words between the opposition and Barisan Nasional lawmakers went out of control during Nga's debate on the opening speech of by the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah.
This prompted Speaker S. Thangasvari to adjourn the session to Monday.
Later at a press conference, Datuk Mohd Khusairi Abdul Talib (BN-Slim) hit out at the supposed double standards practised by the opposition as Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali had on Aug 19, 2015 said there was no need for the state entity's reports to be tabled.
"Why is the opposition pursuing the issue in Perak ... the Selangor MB Inc should take the lead.
"The entity had also transferred cash and properties worth RM30 billion to Darul Ehsan Invest without the approval of the state excos," he added.
