KUALA LUMPUR: The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has introduced the Triple Plus programme to provide a platform for Malaysians to generate side income through its product.
PTPTN chairman Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said Malaysians should register as an online marketing agent for PTPN product to benefit from the Triple Plus programme which was launched today.
"The programme has three major benefits namely, savings, protection and income.
"Featuring seminar concept, it will also provide an opportunity to PTPTN to help students who have completed their studies, especially PTPTN borrowers to participate in generating additional income," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after a prize-giving ceremony of the Wow! National Education Savings Scheme (SSPN-i Plus) Second Quarter 2016/2017 at the Putra World Trade Centre here today.
Shamsul said the first series of the Triple Plus began today, and would travel to 13 locations nationwide until July.
Meanwhile, he said PTPTN targetted at least 350,000 new accounts which would be opened under SSPN-i Plus, with deposits amounting to RM550 million this year.
SSPN-i Plus was introduced last June, not only for education savings but also offered takaful insurance coverage, dividends, as well as tax exemption up to RM12,000 a year, and was Syariah-compliant.
Earlier, Shamsul presented prizes to the winners of the main prizes of the Wow! SSPN-i Plus to Afdhual Shamsi, 46, who bagged a Honda Jazz 1.5L car, while second place went to Noor Hayati Mustafa, 40, who took home a cash prize of RM2,000. — Bernama
