(Video) Man assaults train passenger for talking on the phone

A SINGAPOREAN man has been caught on video scolding and hitting another MRT passenger for talking on the phone and disrupting his sleep.
In a video posted on Must Be Singapore Facebook page, the older man claimed he was trying to catch forty winks but was disturbed by the other passenger's phone conversation.
The man can be seen shouting at the other passenger and even hits him, saying: "When I want to rest, you talk talk talk ... you want to talk you sit far away!"
He continues to berate the other passenger and the other man asks why he couldn't speak on his phone since the train is a public space. At this point, the man got more upset and raises his voice even louder.
When the other passenger tries to snap a photo of the man, he angrily pushes the phone away and hits the passenger with a rolled up newspaper, before hastily getting off the MRT.
The video has been shared almost 2,000 times, with many netizens chiding the man for being aggressive. The majority pointed out that the train is a public space and if he wanted to rest, he should have stayed home. Other passengers were also criticised for not helping the victim.
