PETALING JAYA (June 27, 2011): Singapore’s investigations have not found any incidence of Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) aircraft violating international air traffic rules or entering Malaysian airspace without permission, Singapore High Commission in Malaysia said in a statement today.
According to its press officer Harold Lee, in most of the alleged violations, as claimed by Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi last week, “no aircraft were flying”.
“Where flights did exist, a number were non-Singaporean commercial aircraft flying over Malaysia according to international air traffic rules and regulations,” he said, referring to Ahmad Zahid’s statement that Singapore violated Malaysian airspace 2,058 times since 2008.
