I-Bhd plans RM25m wax museum at i-City

KUALA LUMPUR (June 20, 2013): I-Bhd, master developer of i-City, has invested RM25 million to build another new tourism attraction, RedCarpet@i-City, Malaysia's first all-stars interactive wax museum.

Executive chairman Tan Sri Lim Kim Hong said the all-in total investment also included the cost of marketing and promotion.

"RedCarpet will feature a total of 100 wax figures of famous people from history and contemporary personalities of today under six themes namely world icons, celebrities, sport stars, world book of records, all stars cafe and interactive.

"The wax figures will be showcased in a 3,000 sq ft Oscar-like award setting," he told reporters after unveiling the RedCarpet logo here today.

Elaborating on the logo, its director Monica Ong said red carpet was chosen as the name to associate it with the recognition and status it is commonly known.

"The logo with the words 'Red Carpet' is depicted here in a stylistic free flow movement that represents prestige, entertaining and fun," she said.

Ong noted that RedCarpet@i-City was not a typical wax museum because it would showcase some revolutionary wax technology whereby the new exhibit is more
interactive with motion and audio.

Visitors would be able to come up close and personal with famous people as well as accord them the opportunity to interact or snap photographs with their favourite celebrities, she added.

To open for public viewing in August, the RedCarpet@i-City will be another Malaysian-owned international product and new attraction for Visit Malaysia 2014 for both international and local visitors. – Bernama
