Sixth annual Asian Auto Awards

THE sixth annual running of the Asian Auto Allianz Auto Industry Awards came to a momentous close earlier this month, awarding 19 vehicles and 14 carmakers for their outstanding achievements.

Highlights of the winners list include the newly launched Ford Kuga 1.6 EcoBoost winning the 'Best Performance Luxury Compact SUV' award whilst its siblings the Ford Focus 2.0 Sport+ took the title of 'Best Value For Money Family Car'.

Honda Malaysia also bagged three awards in total with the CR-Z sports hybrid voted as the 'Best Value For Money Sports Car' award, followed by the CRV 2.0 winning the 'Best Value For Money SUV' title, and the Civic 1.8S clinching the award for 'Best Local Assembled Family Car'.

However, the highly coveted 'Overall Car of the Year' title went to the seventh generation Volkswagen Golf TSI. The Golf also took home a second award when the same jury panel voted it as the 'Best Value For Money Hot Hatch' as well.

The full winners listings and categories are available online at both the Asian Auto and Allianz official webpages.
