Najib on working visit to San Francisco, NY

SAN FRANCISCO (Sept 22, 2013): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak arrived here today to begin his working visit to San Francisco and New York until Sept 29.

Najib, accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived on a special flight which departed from the KL International Airport in Sepang at 5.45pm on Saturday.

Najib is on a working visit to San Francisco to attend the 3rd Global Science and Innovation Advisory Council (GSIAC) meeting from Sept 22 to 24. He will also attend the Forum on Green Future and Green Energy, which will be participated by global experts on science and innovation.

The GSIAC was initiated by the prime minister in 2010 as part of his ongoing efforts to transform Malaysia into a high-income economy through enhancing Malaysia's capabilities in science and innovation.

Najib will also attend the 7th BIO-International Advisory Panel meeting and visit Silicon Valley, which includes a tour of the headquarters of Twitter and Google.

Among the highlights of his visit is to the Silicon Valley, his first since becoming the prime minister in 2009.

He will also meet with the senior management teams at Twitter and Google.

Najib will leave for New York tomorrow to lead Malaysia's delegation to the 68th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York from Wednesday to Sunday. – Bernama
