Police arrest suspected drug dealer, seize semi-automatic pistol

KUALA LUMPUR (Nov 29, 2013): Police arrested a suspected drug dealer and seized a 9mm semi-automatic pistol from a man in Jalan Maharajalela on Nov 21.

Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainuddin Ahmad said the motorcyclist,53, was also caught in possession of 50 rounds of ammunition and 1,000 Ecstasy pills.

"After interrogating the suspect, police raided his house in Kajang and arrested an Indonesian woman, believed to be his wife.

"We also seized two packets of Ecstasy pills and several 'Ah Long' loan cards," he told reporters at Dang Wangi police headquarters, here today.

Investigation revealed that the suspect was believed to be an active drug dealer and "Ah Long' in the Klang Valley.

The case was investigated under Section 8 of the Firearms Act 1971 and Section 39 (b) of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

On another case, Zainuddin said three men arrested on Nov 16 had returned to their bad ways and robbed several 7 Eleven convenience stores in the city.

The 20 to 27 years-old suspects who used parang to rob were arrested in a raid on a house in Setapak.

He said the police are hunting another gang member known as 'Fiq.'

The arrests had solved several robbery cases involving 7 Eleven convenient stores in the city.

The case was investigated under Section 395/397 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
