PETALING JAYA (Jan 7, 2014): The much-anticipated Sports Toto Chinese New Year Ang Pow Donation Campaign is back and some 17,000 needy senior citizens are poised to receive goodies this year.
Back for its 26th year, the campaign aims to share Chinese New Year joy with the less fortunate.
"Our management and staff look forward to handing ang pow and goodies to them as a way to wish them well during the auspicious Chinese New Year season," said Sports Toto executive director Vincent Seow.
Seow said the campaign will help create awareness on the need to support the underprivileged and promote inter-cultural understanding among various races in the country.
He said the company is pleased to continue the donation campaign, which has been an anticipated annual affair, as proven by phone enquiries that came in as early as October last year.
The charity drive is set to be launched on Jan 16 at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH). Seven Klang Valley old folks' homes have been invited to join the launching ceremony.
The campaign, set to last eight days, will reach out to 41 cities and towns nationwide.
Except for the launch venue, pre-registration is required for all other distribution points throughout the country. For more information, the public can visit the nearest Sports Toto outlet or call its general line at 03-21489888.
