PETALING JAYA (Jan 8, 2014): Melbourne-based property developers SPEC Property has set up an office in Malaysia, marking its entry into the Asean region. Melbourne currently hosts the largest diaspora of Malaysians in Australia.
Since 2000 the number of Malaysian investment has risen by about 500%. Malaysians invested A$1.9 billion (RM5.5 billion) in Victoria alone in 2012.
The high-end residential developer aims to tap Malaysia's burgeoning demand for Australian properties as the increasingly affluent populace look for potential investment opportunities in quality homes in Melbourne, which is popular with Malaysians for its education and lifestyle.
Located at The Curve in Mutiara Damansara, the office comprises both a sales gallery as well as regional office providing investors a property management service where current and future homeowners can remotely manage their purchases.
Buyers can make payments; sign official documents, settle their taxes, payments, fees and utilities; lease their properties and collect their rent surpluses at the office, according to a statement by the company yesterday.
SPEC Property currently offers seven unique properties all within 10km of Melbourne's Central Business District. These include luxury residences such as Ella, WLSN, Galleria, Canvas and The Andalusian.
