Moderate earthquake hits Southern Molucca Sea

    KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 2, 2014): A moderate earthquake with a magnitude of 5.1 on the Richter scale struck the Southern Molucca Sea in Indonesia at 10.59am today, the Malaysian Meteorological Department said.
    The quake's epicentre was 240km southwest of Tidore, Indonesia and 1,101km southeast of Semporna, Sabah.
    It did not pose any tsunami threat, the department said in a statement. – Bernama
