No sinister motives in video, says Teresa Kok

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 11, 2014): Seputeh MP Teresa Kok said today that her controversial video was meant to send Chinese New Year greetings in a humorous way, without sinister motives.
The DAP politician said there were similar videos on Youtube that many Malaysians enjoyed viewing, with humour in mind.
“There have been (people) who have poked fun at me and even (Datuk Seri) Anwar Ibrahim and I have had a good laugh. The politicians who hit out at me have no sense of humour,” she said at the KL police headquarters in Jalan Hang Tuah today.
Kok was there to show support for comedienne Lim Ching Miao, who was interviewed by police as a witness in the probe into the video.
Lim, one of the three actors in the video, had her statement recorded for more than two hours by investigators after arriving at 3pm.
The two other male actors were also questioned between 9am and 1.30pm.
Meanwhile, the Bar Council is unhappy with the authorities for dragging their feet in acting against the perpetrators of the “chicken blood smearing” and “reward to slap Teresa” controversies.
“They slaughtered chickens and smeared blood on pictures of certain leaders. The action by the Muslim NGOs is a clear incitement and a threat to public order.
“The fact that the authorities are dragging their feet on the matter may even be seen to be encouraging such incitement,” Bar Council president Christopher Leong told a press conference today.
He also criticised Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for saying that the cash reward offered to slap Kok was “not a threat”. He said leaders are supposed to resolve tensions that prevail and not contribute to it.
