Police corporal charged with colleague's murder

KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 14, 2014): A policeman from the Bukit Aman Special Branch was charged in the Magistrate's Court here today for the murder of his colleague, who was found shot in the face, early last month.
Corporal Wan Masrul Faiezie Wan Mustapha, 33, nodded his head after the charge was read before Magistrate Erry Shahriman Nor Aripin.
Wan Masrul Faiezie is charged with murdering Lance Corporal T.Thivakar, 37, at a roadside at Jalan Negeri Sembilan, Bukit Persekutuan here between 4.11pm and 4.50pm last Feb 4.
The offence, under Section 302 of the Penal Code, carries the death sentence upon conviction.
Prosecution was conducted by deputy public prosecutor Nor Diana Nor Azwa, while Wan Masrul Faiezie was unrepresented.
Lawyer Sheelan Arjunan held a watching brief for the victim's family.
The court set April 14 for mention pending the chemist and post mortem report. – Bernama
