Eddie Chai is Astral Supreme’s new MD

PETALING JAYA: Astral Supreme Bhd has redesignated Datuk Eddie Chai Woon Chet to managing director (MD) from executive director, and Wong Kwai Wah to executive director from non-executive director effective last Friday (March 7).
This confirms a SunBiz report last week which tipped Eddie to take over as MD following his emergence in the group.
Eddie, the son of timber tycoon Tan Sri Chai Kin Kong, is currently the chairman of LCL M&E Engineering Sdn Bhd, which specialises in mechanical and electrical engineering within the construction industry. He is also the group managing director of XOX Sdn Bhd.
Wong, 57, is currently an executive director of Consortium Zenith BUCG Sdn Bhd.
Astral Supreme also announced the appointment of Datuk Ng Aun Hooi, Andrew Lim Piow Tiang, Chong Loong Men and Datuk Mohamad Shokri Abdullah as directors and announced the resignation of Lee Heng Khen as director, citing "other business commitment".
It also appointed Wong Keo Rou as joint secretary and announced a change of registrar to Share Works Sdn Bhd from Symphony Share Registrars Sdn Bhd previously.
Astral Supreme has seen some boardroom movements recently with the cessation of two substantial shareholders namely, Cherng Chin Guan and Ong Tai Chin.
