Karl Lagerfeld praises 'flawless' style icon Queen Elizabeth

KARL Lagerfeld (pix) is a big fan of the British royal family's style, especially Queen Elizabeth's classic look and the Duchess of Cornwall's "wild" headgear.
The Chanel boss is awestruck by the 87-year-old British monarch's classic dress sense and her ability to rock a power suit for every occasion, and believes fellow royal the Duchess of Cornwall is fast catching up to Duchess Catherine's style icon status.
He enthused: "Nobody does the job better than [The Queen] does. She is never ridiculous; she is flawless. For this job, in our day, she is perfect. She's not supposed to be a fashion icon who is changing fashion. The Duchess of Cambridge can do that.
"Kate is chic in a classic way, but sometimes, with her Philip Treacy hats, Camilla is wilder. I know people who know her. Apparently, she's full of wit and spirit."
Aside from the royal family, Karl's favourite trend-setter is model-of-the-moment Cara Delevingne, who he likened to old silent movie star Charlie Chaplin because she is so charismatic.
He said in an interview with The Sunday Times newspaper: "She's a character. She's the Charlie Chaplin of the fashion world. She is kind of genius, like a character out of a silent movie.
"I would see her better in a silent movie than a talkie because she over-accents the movement. Girls admire her like they used to Kate Moss. They all want to be as free as her."
The Creative Director showed his support for Cara by walking hand-in-hand with his protégé at the end of his supermarket-inspired autumn/winter 2014 ready-to-wear show during Paris Fashion Week last week. – Bang Media
