Najib arrives in Manila for signing of landmark peace accord

MANILA: Malaysian Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak arrived here Thursday for a working visit to witness the signing of the historic Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro which ends decades of hostilities between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF).
On hand to welcome him on arrival at the Villamor air base in Pasay City at 1pm were Malaysia's Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman as well as other senior Malaysian and Philippine officials.
Malaysia and the Philippines are in the same time zone.
Najib was accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The prime minister is scheduled to witness the signing of the peace agreement along with Philippine President Benigno Aquino III, and will be hosted to a dinner by the latter at the Malacanang Palace.
Najib and Rosmah are scheduled to leave Manila tonight. – Bernama
