I THINK by now we have all heard of how a huge gathering of chefs led to an event company issuing a "certificate" from the Guinness Book of Records, and later saying it was only a "gimmick".

NEWS broke recently that Parliament will be amending the Bankruptcy Act including raising the minimum threshold of debt before being declared bankrupt from RM30,000 to RM50,000.

Our government believes that raising the threshold of debt will help reduce the number bankrupts.

I WAS shocked to read about what two Malaysian students of Indian descent had to go through with their lecturer in our highest internationally ranked university.

For those who missed the reports, apparently a lecturer decided that two students should not sit next to each other because "she knows that Indians will plagiarise and copy one another".

THIS issue of paintbrushes with pig bristles is not new. I remember this from secondary school, when I had friends telling me the calligraphy brushes they used were made out of pig bristles.

Sadly, perhaps there aren't many Malay Malaysians with Chinese Malaysian friends to warn them of such items these days.
