Do we have enough water?

IT'S been more than two weeks since the last raindrop fell in this part of Kuala Lumpur and the grass has turned brown in most neighbourhoods.

What is beginning to worry most residents is how long this drought will last and will that affect the water level in the various dams around the country.

Can the relevant authorities inform the public about the water reserve in the various dams and should some form of water rationing be implemented to ensure that the remaining reserve can last us until the next rainy season starts.

It is about time that we remind ourselves of the Durian Tunggal dam fiasco many years ago where the water level alarm was first raised just a few days before the dam completely dried out.

Let us hope that this current drought will end soon and that we have enough water until the next major rainfall occurs.
