KUALA LUMPUR: Pro-Mahasiswa Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) president Muhammad Syahir Rahimi Sukri was assaulted by two suspects after putting up banners on campus for the university's elections, early this morning. Kajang police chief ACP Willey Richard said the victim's friend received a call from him at about 5.30am, asking to be fetched from the back of the Kolej Ibrahim Yaakob building on campus. "He then rushed to the location and saw the victim lying on the ground with blood all over him. "We found slash wounds on his body, he was also splashed with red paint," said Willey. Willey revealed that the two suspects were believed to be in their 20s and were wearing tinted full face helmets. "The duo fled with their black Yamaha Lagenda motorbike with an unknown registration number. "We believe that the suspects used a knife to slash the victim's body," he said, adding that they did not steal anything from Muhammad Syahir. He said police are investigating the case to ascertain the motive and track down the suspects. The victim was taken to the Hospital Serdang for further treatment and was subsequently discharged today.
