One individual allegedly linked to anarchist group detained

    KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested an individual allegedly connected to the anarchist group in the anti-Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) demonstration held earlier today.
    Dang Wangi police chief ACP Zainol Samah said that the the man who was a local arrested at Jalan Tun Perak, here.
    "The boy, aged 20, was nabbed to avoid any untoward incident and we believe he was related to the anarchist group,we arrested today," he said in a media statement today.
    On Friday, police arrested six individuals after they were found damaging public property in the vicinity of the city centre.
    They were arrested at several locations including Jalan Petaling, Jalan Melayu and Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman
    According to Zainol, the police are satisfied with the conduct of the anti-TPPA rally who have gathered at Padang Merbok at 2pm.
    "They followed all the rules and everything was peaceful, with no incidents of provocations," he said adding the rally goers was estimated at 7,000 people.
    Zainol also declined to state the number of police personnel deployed on the ground, merely saying that there was a sufficient force present.
    Meanwhile, rally participant Mohd Hariff Hanafi,34 said no untoward incidents had occurred and that the situation was peaceful.
    "The cops facilitated us well and I am satisfied with the spirit of unity displayed by all the participant of the rally," he said.
