Mercedes introduces AMG GT

MERCEDES Benz Malaysia has been on a roll of late. It recently announced healthy sales figures and the waiting period for its cars is up to a few months; customers do not mind waiting for their new Mercedes and that is the ultimate sign of a healthy brand.
New to the party is the all-new Mercedes AMG GT, the new sports car in the Mercedes range, and the second sports car after the SLS AMG to be developed entirely in house.
The new GT is also more than just a sports car, it successfully combines driving dynamics and first-class racetrack performance with superb everyday practicality and efficiency that sets new standards in its segment.
The centerpiece of the new Mercedes-AMG GT S is of course the new 4.0-litre V8 biturbo engine.
It offers such performance figures as a 310km/h top speed and a 3.8 second sprint from zero to 100km/h. It produces 510hp and 650Nm of torque and is coupled to a sevenspeed gearbox.
What's truly impressive is that despite the crushing performance, the two-seater is a straightforward, comfortable and reliable machine for everyday motoring.
Mercedes Benz Malaysia is currently only offering the Mercedes-AMG GT S "Edition 1", which offers a black nappa leather interior with red contrasting topstitching.
Performance seats with red contrasting topstitching are also standard, as is the Black Diamond interior package, and a performance steering wheel in DINAMIC microfibre with a flattened lower section.
The Edition 1 also features an updated exterior with an aerodynamic package that offers a larger front splitter, a fixed rear wing, dynamic black trim on the side sill panels, a carbon-fibre roof and an exterior night package that updates other parts of the car in high-gloss black trim including blacked-out tailpipes, and massive 19 inch wheels up front and 20 inch wheels at the rear.
