Mid-year launch for Transformation Plan for Local Authorities: Halimah

KUALA LUMPUR: The Transformation Plan for Local Authorities (PBT) which, among others, aim to improve the quality of service delivery by the PBT throughout the country is ready and expected to be launched in the middle of the year.
The Deputy Minister of Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government, Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique said it was completed together with six books on implementation guidelines according to their respective thrusts for use by the local authorities throughout the country.
“The plan is expected to be launched by Deputy Prime Minister (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) in the middle of this year," she said during question time at the Dewan Negara sitting today.
Halimah was replying to a question from Senator Datuk Yoo Wei How who wanted the ministry to state the status of the Transformation Plans for Local Authorities so far.
Commenting further, Halimah said to ensure that the plan was relevant to the people, the state governments and local authorities, the ministry had held engagements with various interested parties to seek their opinion in developing the plan. — Bernama
